He Waits

Two weeks ago, Stewart spilled red beans and rice in my Tahoe. Why do I remember this even though it happened two weeks ago? Because every time we get in the car now, Zach says, "It still smells bad in here." No, the smell is not gone. Despite Stewart trying to clean up the mess as soon as it happened, and then having the car detailed, the stench lingers. My best description is that it smells like something died in my car. If I had smell-o-vision on my phone, I would share it with you. I'm sure you're happy that I can't do that!

Do you have something in your life that you can still "smell?" Maybe you can't physically smell it, but the stench lingers. No matter how much you try to mask the odor, it doesn't go away. You are reminded of it all day long. There is an enemy that keeps bringing it up over and over again even though it happened some time in the past. It's a hurt. Or a sin. Did you know that the Lord is waiting for you?

Yes. He is waiting. FOR YOU.

“And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you." (Isaiah 30:18a, AMP)

The Lord is waiting to be gracious to you. He's expecting you. Looking for you. Longing for you to come to Him and say you have a hurt that needs to be healed. He is wanting to extend His grace to you for your sin. In fact, He is almost standing on His tippy-toes trying to see you coming from far off! He is lifting Himself up! What a picture.

So what happens when we bring Him our hurts and our sin?

"For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!” (Isaiah 30:18b, AMP)

We're blessed. We're to be envied. We have victory, favor, love, peace, and joy. And most of all, we have His matchless, unbroken companionship! Wow! All we must do is go to Him and wait for Him to show us his loving-kindness. He waits for you. Go now!
